Steve Young Founding Partner

Steve has over 28 years combined opportunistic lending, restructuring, and investment banking experience through various market cycles, he has led Prescient Capital Management to national recognition.

Prior to founding Prescient Capital in 2006, Steve was recruited to New York by Sandler O'Neill & Partners LLP. At Sandler O'Neill, Mr. Young advised financial institutions seeking to improve their margins, return on assets, and return on equity and overall business results.

Steve is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin--Madison with a bachelor's degree in structural and environmental engineering.

Daniel Keck Partner

Daniel joined Prescient Capital in 2012 as a partner and directs the firm's strategic direction, operations, investor relations, and management.

Prior to Prescient, Dan was a Principal with The Presidio Group, a premier, independent financial advisory firm focusing on investment banking, capital advisory, and private equity. Before joining Presidio, Dan was with Morgan Stanley in various divisions in Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia. Before Morgan Stanley Dan was a Commander in the U.S. Navy where he served worldwide as a carrier-based F/A-18 pilot and graduated from the United States Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN).

Dan earned his MBA with Honors from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania and his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy.

John Griffin Lead Counsel

John Griffin is Prescient Capital's lead legal counsel. John is responsible for forming all loan documents within the jurisdiction of the corresponding state, verifying borrower's loan obligations, working with borrower attorneys and third parties to ensure the processing of the loan transaction, and assisting with workout situations.

John began his career at Baker Botts where he focused on securities law, corporate law, and mergers and acquisitions. Afterward, he joined King & Spalding and trained under David Epstein--an esteemed bankruptcy expert. John's formative years included representing clients such as SunTrust and Anglo-American Financial LLC.

John earned his JD from Columbia University School of Law in 1986 as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and BA in History from the University of Virginia 1982 as a Phi Beta Kappa, Echols Scholar.

Carrie Niese Director

Carrie joined Prescient Capital in 2016 with a primary focus on loan origination, pipeline management, and relationship development. She is also closely tied to daily operational management and marketing efforts.

Before Prescient, Carrie started Niese | Co consulting and has 18 years of experience working in public relations, event management, and corporate communications in New York City. While living in NYC, she had the opportunity to hold instrumental positions with brands such as Tiffany & Co., Harry Winston, John Hardy, Escada, Stephen Webster, and Neiman Marcus.

When she is not working, she is spending time with the family or enjoying the great outdoors!
